Koch Chemie ClearView: The Glass Cleaner Engineered For Modern Vehicles

Koch Chemie ClearView is the streak-free glass cleaner from the Koch Chemie The Finisher line, engineered for modern vehicle glass with all the complications that come with it: factory tinted windows, OEM heated rear glass, head-up display panels and ceramic-coated windshields. Developed in the Koch Chemie laboratories in Unna, Germany, ClearView is ammonia-free, pH-neutral and formulated specifically for automotive glass, not adapted from household chemistry.

Where supermarket glass cleaners often contain ammonia that damages window tint and rubber seals, ClearView dissolves bug residue, road film, brake dust, fingerprints and water spotting without affecting tint adhesive or rubber. The German formulation evaporates clean with no haze, no residue and no streak-causing additives.

Why Detailers Trust ClearView

  • Streak-free finish: evaporates clean leaving no haze, residue or fingerprint magnets behind.
  • Ammonia-free formula: safe on tinted windows, rubber seals, plastic trim and OEM heated glass elements where ammonia-based cleaners cause damage over time.
  • Dissolves automotive contamination: bug splatter, tar specks, brake dust, road film, water spots, fingerprints and skin oils.
  • pH-neutral: safe over glass ceramic coatings and rain-repellent treatments.
  • Multi-glass safe: windshield, side windows, rear glass, mirrors, sunroof, headlight lenses and infotainment screens.
  • Made in Germany: formulated and bottled in Koch Chemie's own laboratories in Unna.

How to Use Koch Chemie ClearView

  1. Work in the shade on cool glass. Avoid direct sunlight which causes the product to flash before you can wipe.
  2. Fold a clean microfiber towel into quarters, providing four clean working surfaces.
  3. Spray ClearView directly onto the glass, 2 to 3 sprays per window section.
  4. Wipe horizontally with the first quarter of the towel, then flip to a fresh quarter and wipe vertically. Two-direction wiping catches missed streaks.
  5. For interior glass, spray onto the towel first (not the glass) to avoid drips onto dashboards or electronics.
  6. Buff dry with the fourth clean quarter of the towel for a final streak check.

For heavy bug or tar contamination: let ClearView dwell for 30 to 60 seconds before wiping. Reapply if needed for stubborn spots.

Pro tip: follow with HydroBoost on glass to add a hydrophobic layer that improves visibility in rain and makes the next cleaning easier. Combined with ClearView the result lasts weeks longer than either product alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ClearView safe on tinted windows?
Yes. The ammonia-free formula is specifically designed to be safe on factory tinted glass and aftermarket tint films. Ammonia-based cleaners (the common household type) can degrade tint adhesive over time and cause discoloration.

Can I use ClearView on infotainment screens and head-up displays?
Yes, with caution. Spray onto the microfiber towel first, never directly onto the screen. Wipe gently with light pressure. For OEM touchscreens with oleophobic coatings, ClearView is safer than household cleaners but still consult your vehicle manufacturer's specific cleaning guidance.

Why does my glass streak even when I use a glass cleaner?
Three common causes: applying in direct sunlight (the cleaner flashes off before you can wipe), using a contaminated or wax-coated microfiber towel, or using a cleaner with residue-leaving additives. ClearView addresses all three: residue-free, fast-acting and best used in shade with a clean dedicated glass towel.

Can ClearView be used on headlight lenses?
Yes, for cleaning. ClearView safely removes road film, bug residue and surface haze from plastic headlight lenses. For deeper restoration of yellowed or oxidized headlights, a dedicated headlight restoration product is needed.

Is ClearView safe over a glass ceramic coating?
Yes. The pH-neutral chemistry will not strip glass coatings or rain-repellent treatments. Use as often as needed without affecting the protective layer.

Where is ClearView made?
Koch Chemie ClearView is formulated and bottled in Germany by Koch Chemie GmbH at their headquarters in Unna. The Rag Company Europe is an authorised dealer of the Koch Chemie The Finisher line for Europe.
