Optimum MDR (Mineral Deposit Remover)

Water spots, often referred to as water marks, result from hard water evaporating on your vehicle’s surface. As the water evaporates, it leaves behind minerals and contaminants that can cause unsightly stains. These spots are particularly problematic when they are superheated by the sun, making them more difficult to remove.

Why Use Optimum MDR?

Optimum MDR is specifically formulated to tackle these stubborn water spots, especially on surfaces that have been coated and protected with products like Optimum Gloss-Coat. When applied, MDR effectively dissolves the minerals before they have a chance to etch into the paint, making it an essential product for maintaining your vehicle’s finish.

Non-Abrasive Formula for Safe Application

Optimum MDR is a non-abrasive gel that can be applied by hand using a foam or microfiber applicator. To remove water spots, gently massage the gel into the affected area for 30-60 seconds, allowing the MDR to gradually break down the mineral deposits. Afterward, rinse the surface clean and inspect for any remaining spots.

For more stubborn stains, you can apply MDR using a machine polisher set to a low speed with a soft foam pad. The MDR provides lubrication while you work on the affected areas, enhancing its effectiveness without damaging the surface.

Important Note:

Optimum MDR is designed to remove surface-level water spots. If the water spots have penetrated the clear coat, MDR may not be effective, and machine polishing will be required to restore the surface.

Application Instructions:

  1. Pour a small amount of Optimum MDR onto a clean microfiber towel or foam applicator.
  2. Apply to the water-spotted area, working the product in for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Wipe off the residue and check the surface for any remaining mineral deposits.
  4. Repeat the process as needed until the surface is clean.
  5. Finally, wash the area to remove any leftover chemical residue.
