P&S Rags to Riches: The Detergent That Brings Microfiber Back to Life

P&S Rags to Riches is a professional-grade microfiber detergent engineered for one purpose: deep cleaning the towels detailers depend on. Free of softeners, dyes, brighteners and fragrance fillers, it strips embedded wax, polish, sealant, oil and ground-in dirt without coating fibers in residue that kills absorbency.

If your microfiber towels feel stiff, glide instead of grab, or smear product instead of buff it, they are not worn out. They are saturated with the wrong detergent. Rags to Riches restores the absorbency, plushness and grip that made them work in the first place.

Why Detailers Trust Rags to Riches

  • Built for microfiber: formulated specifically to clean polyester-polyamide fibers without coating them.
  • Restores absorbency: strips out the softener residue, oils and waxes that kill towel performance.
  • Concentrated formula: a small dose per load, so a 946ml bottle washes dozens of loads.
  • No softeners, no fillers: none of the chemistry that makes regular laundry detergent a microfiber-killer.
  • Removes deep contamination: dissolves wax, polish, sealant, oil, ceramic prep, brake dust and traffic film from towel fibers.
  • HE-machine compatible: works in front-loaders, top-loaders and high-efficiency washers.

How to Use P&S Rags to Riches

  1. Sort microfiber towels by category (paint towels, wheel towels, interior towels) to avoid cross-contamination.
  2. Add 30ml (1oz) of Rags to Riches per load to the detergent compartment of your washer.
  3. Wash on warm or hot setting (40 to 60 °C). Hotter water dissolves more contamination.
  4. Skip fabric softener, dryer sheets and bleach. They will undo everything Rags to Riches just did.
  5. Tumble dry on low or air-dry. Avoid high heat which weakens fibers over time.

Pro tip: for heavily contaminated towels (heavy polish, sealant or wax residue), pre-soak overnight in a bucket with 60ml of Rags to Riches and warm water before washing.

Important: never wash microfiber with cotton towels or shop rags. Cotton lint embeds in microfiber and ruins it for fine detailing work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do microfiber towels need a special detergent?
Standard laundry detergent contains softeners, brighteners and oil-based fragrances that cling to polyester-polyamide fibers and destroy absorbency. Rags to Riches uses surfactants tuned for synthetic fibers and contains none of those residue-leaving additives.

Can Rags to Riches restore an old, stiff towel?
In most cases, yes. If the towel is stiff or glides instead of grabs, the fibers are coated with old softener residue, polish or wax. Rags to Riches dissolves that contamination and brings the absorbency back. Towels with permanent damage (burnt fibers from high heat or torn loops) cannot be saved.

What temperature should I wash at?
40 to 60 °C is ideal. Hot water dissolves more wax and oil. For interior towels with light dirt, 40 °C is fine. For heavily contaminated towels with polish or sealant residue, push to 60 °C.

Can I use a fabric softener with Rags to Riches?
No. Fabric softener coats microfiber fibers and undoes everything Rags to Riches just removed. Skip it on every microfiber load, every time.

How much should I use per load?
30ml (1oz) for normal loads, 60ml for heavily contaminated loads with polish, sealant or wax residue. The bottle includes dosing markings.

Where is P&S made?
